LONDON – Incumbent MP Irene Mathyssen will be the New Democrat candidate in London-Fanshawe in the next federal election when she will ask voters to allow her to continue her work as the Member for London-Fanshawe while Ryan Dolby will represent the NDP again in Elgin-Middlesex-London. Mathyssen received a unanimous vote of confidence from New Democrats at the London-Fanshawe NDP nomination. Dolby also received unanimous support from New Democrats in his riding, after leading the NDP to its strongest showing ever in the Elgin-Middlesex-London riding in the 2008 election. Read more»

After making a spirited entrance with a drum line procession and delivering a rousing speech to over 1,000 delegates, Andrea Horwath, NDP MPP for Hamilton East, won the Ontario NDP Leadership in Hamilton, Ontario Saturday, March 7th. Horwath became the first female Ontario leader of the New Democrats.
She beat out three other caucus members, Peter Taubuns, Gilles Bisson, and Michael Prue following the third round of voting with 60.4 percent as reported by The Canadian Press. Read more»

Yesterday Harper finally admitted Canada is not positioned as well during this “global recession” as he asserted prior to locking out Parliament, when he said the situation scared even him to death.
What a contrast to the smugness we have seen up until the Coalition stood up to him on behalf of all Canadians.
Or, is it simply the Province of Alberta is going to register a financial deficit for the first time in 15 years?
In the spring and summer Harper's “genius”, Flaherty, said Ontario was the worst economy to invest in, adding he would not invest in Ontario's economy. Read more»
