GOVERNMENT REPORT SHOWS NDP HAS BEST RECORD OF BALANCED BUDGETS

OTTAWA - Provinces with New Democrat governments are more likely to have surplus budgets than governments of any other political party, a new report from the Government of Canada indicates.
At a time when the Harper Conservatives are projecting a record $56 billion deficit, the report shows that New Democrat governments have been, and continue to be strong financial managers, while delivering a better quality of life for ordinary people. Read more»
Mathyssen Introduces C-448, to Establish a Federal Minimum Wage

moved for leave to introduce Bill C-448, An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (minimum wage).
She said: Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to table my private member's bill, which is an act to amend the Canada Labour Code with regard to the minimum wage. It seeks to ensure that an employer shall pay to each employee a wage that is not less than $12 per hour. Read more»
Mathyssen Calls on Minister to Intervene and Save Duchess of Kent Legion

OTTAWA– Fighting for the veterans who fought for our country, MP Irene Mathyssen (London-Fansahwe) took the battle to save the Duchess of Kent Legion to parliament this week, presenting the first petition in support of the Legion in the House of Commons on Wednesday September 30th.
