At the February 12 general meeting, London West New Democrats will be selecting a new Executive body to lead us through the next year.

The Executive are responsible for organizing NDP activities in London West, both during and between elections. The members of the Executive will be key to building on our recent successes and working towards the goal of electing a London West New Democrat both provincially and federally.

This is a list of the positions and duties. All of these positions are open each year, so we encourage all NDP members to put their names forward at the February 12 general meeting. No experience is required--just a willingness and desire to promote the goals of the NDP.

President: Chairs meetings, spokesperson for the riding association, oversees riding activities

Vice President (Provincial): Brings forward provincial issues, assumes Chair in absence of the President

Vice President (Federal): Brings forward federal issues, 3rd in the line of succession

Secretary: Records and distributes minutes of executive meetings, maintains routine correspondence

Chief Financial Officer (Provincial): Maintains provincial bank account and records, reports transactions to the
executive, submits annual report to the auditor and Elections Ontario, shares signing authority on behalf of the
riding association

Financial Agent (Federal):Maintains federal bank account and records, reports transactions to the executive,
submits annual report to the auditor and Elections Canada, sole signing authority on behalf of the riding association

Membership Secretary: Organizes membership drives and renewals, records and reports membership changes to Provincial Office

Youth Organizer: Acts as liaison with ONDY and NDYC groups in the London area, recruits new youth members & organizes youth activities

Women’s Representative: Raises women’s issues, acts as a liaison to ONDP Women's Committee

Disability Issues Representative: raises disability issues and acts as a liaison to ONDP Disability Committee

Labour Liaison: reports on local Labour activities

Members at Large (8 to be elected): as with all above positions--attends executive meetings& serves on committees
