I get frustrated when I hear wannabe politicians like Dale Henderson say that the City should be run "like a business".
Does that mean profits take precedence over everything else? What does this mean for the support of all the things that make London worth living in--the libraries, the splash pads, or the soccer fields? What about the assistance the city provides for child care subsidies or social housing? Or even snow removal and stop signs. "Sorry, nothing personal, it's just business."
I want a candidate who preaches the opposite philosophy: Government is here to serve the people, not profit from them.
